
自中外合作教学项目实施以来,北京中学英语组每学年都会以多种形式呈现教育教学成果。2016——2017学年度的展示活动经过一个多月北京中学中外教师的精心设计和准备,在学校领导的大力支持下,北中学子人人参与,开展了为期7天的教育教学效果展示活动,赢得了师生、家长和社会的好评。
本次活动旨在培养学生听说读写技能,全面落实核心素养,鼓励学生全面参与。此次活动分静态、动态两个阶段进行。第一阶段(侧重读写):2017年5月22--5月26日每位学生提交一份英文写作;各年级主题源于生活,比如:六年级给外国友人写邀请信、七年级介绍敬仰的名人、八年级学校阅历课程的英文日志、九年级推荐一处风景名胜等。每位同学利用课外时间,阅读其他三个年级的作品,挑选出最喜欢的文章各一份,拍照后,在活动记录单上留下读后感受。第二阶段(侧重听说):5月27日午间,全校四个年级学生汇聚操场,各年级学生混合编组,通过问卷采访的方式,分享学习感受。
经过四年中外合作团队教学,北京中学英语组开展的活动逐步常态化,体现系列化、特色化。全体英语组教师和来自英美等国家的10多位外籍教师参与此项目,四个年级18个教学班370多名学生受益。此次活动是学校全面育人和世界因我更美好的办学理念一次很好的诠释。

Getting to know students from other classes: English Showcase at BJA
六年级 石一
Last week, we had an English activity between all the grades. Firstly, everyone wrote an essay, then our teachers stuck them onto the walls of each hallway, and everyone could read them. The task was that everyone had to write their thoughts about another student’s writing. On the second day, all the grades were split into groups, according to a number from 1-80. The idea was that there would be one student from each grade per group. We had to talk to the students in the other grades, and answer the questions on the interview sheet.
I really enjoyed that activity. We got to practice our writing skills, and it is wonderful to read the writing that was written by someone not in your age/grade. It was a good opportunity to learn from other people; you can even learn new words from that! And I think that it would be a great honor to have other people appreciate your writing. I had a really happy time, I learned some information about a scientist called Alexander Fleming. “I had felt the heat of the desert and once saw a camel” (from the writer's work), and even had a new place to travel-Machu Pichhu!
The second day on the playground was meaningful too; we got to know some students from other grades, and it was a chance to make new friends! We shared some thoughts about our English learning, and you could hear the advice from other students who may have more experience, which can be really helpful.
I really enjoyed this activity, and I hope our school can hold more activities like this, but not only in English, it can be in other subjects as well. Also, if the time of the communication can be longer, then it would be great!

英语活动感受
七年级 王怡玮
这次英语组举办的showcase活动上周结束了,但是给我们带来了很大的影响与帮助。在活动开始前大约一周,老师就已经给全校所有的同学发了活动单。活动单分两部分,第一部分我们通过阅读楼梯口各个年级的同学们的英语作业,增长了知识还增进了同学之间的了解。
在一个中午,午饭过后,全校所有的学生与英语老师都聚集在操场上。老师们为这个活动已经筹划了很久。操场上已经细心的贴好标号,几乎每个地方都有可以遮蔽阳光的地方。每一个年级的每一位同学都有一个不同的序号,各年级的英语老师用各种各样的彩色马克笔写在手上,非常醒目。而我们根据自己的编号,对应操场上的序号,找到自己的地方。各年级的学生聚在一起,自我介绍过后,根据活动单上的问题,做了一个简单的“采访”。这次的采访是对于各科学习生活与个人喜好的一次简单采访调查。大约十五分钟的交流分享后,我们在各自的活动单上写下采访的最终结果,活动就结束了。
虽然活动全程不过二十分钟,但是非常有效地促进了各年级同学们的英语学习和口语交流,增多了解与积累知识,对我们全体师生而言都是非常有益的一次活动。活动全程时间很短,时间非常有限,但是从老师们策划方案到真正实施,所有的时间总和是我们所不知道的,但是也非常感谢老师们的付出,希望以后我们还能够参加这样的活动,有更多的收获与感悟。
All about the showcase

I was quite confused about this activity until the last minute it begun: what is this for? Should we just stood there and talk? I got all the answers, when everything is finished.
Lucky, someone finally came. It's a girl from grade 6 whom I have never seen. To avoid the awkward atmosphere, I started to talk as she was walking towards me: “Are you group 56"Okey, I know that sounds dumb, but I couldn't think of a better way to begin our conversation. She nodded and sat next to me, I opened my mouth before the embarrassment comes again. Everything went surprising well. We finished the questions on paper quickly and had a nice chat. From that on, everything seems to start going well. More and more students came, anxiety had already been threw away miles behind,the "Showcase " ends in laughter and chatters.
The "Showcase” didn't just help us to strengthen our expression ability, but also encourages us to talk with different students from every grade. I learned about what they thought about the classes they are learning and also see the difference of thoughts between grade 6, grade 8, and grade 9. I think this is a great activity; we have more chance to make conversations with people we might see every day, but will not open our mouth to.
Saturday was quite a hot day. But I felt joy and happiness bouncing up and down in my body. Hope we have more activities like this in the future.

——文字世界里的交流
八年级 田心仪
每个人都有自己的小世界,从早晨来到学校便开始忙忙碌碌;每天接触相同年级的同学,也许对学校里其他年级的同学少了一些交流,少了一种“我们是同一所学校的学生”的熟悉感和凝聚力。我想,这便是这次英语学科展示活动的初衷。
细心的人们会发现,几天前起,北中走廊里增添了崭新的装点:无论是去到异国他乡的旅行,还是古灵精怪的故事,抑或是真挚诚恳的书信;勾勒出了一幅幅个性十足的英文作品。而上周六中午的交流活动,就基于认真品读了各个年级同学作品的基础上。
你不知道这种感觉有多奇妙:浏览着朋友们的作品,发现同样的旅程里,大家发现的截然不同的美丽;阅读着学弟学妹的作品,品味着细节、语言风格,好像能真正见到性格迥异的他们——人如其文;欣赏着学哥学姐的作品,感觉自己也像文章里的他们一样,“上知天文下知地理”……
其实真正的交流不一定局限于声音和听觉,有的时候揣摩每一篇文章的风格、欣赏个性十足的字迹,也是一种很好的交流:总有一篇或者几篇文章能触动你——也许因为那清秀的笔迹,也许因为内容的引人入胜——它会让你久久驻足,让你热切盼望着结识这位作者,了解更多关于他们的故事。

九年级 沈在
在这次的周六,我们参加了一个英语组所组织的全学校的活动,就是不同年级的同学在一起进行讨论与学习。主要针对一些学业上关于个人不同的问题,比如最喜欢的科目或者认为哪一科最难,我们通过交流来获取不一样的感受。而利用中午吃完饭后的时间,也让同学有一个短暂的休息与思考的过程。活动本身的问题并不是最为重要的,最为重要的是利用这个时间让大家在一起交流。
这种交流还是很有必要的,因为不同年级的学生之间,往往有不一样的看法,还能产生对自身的思考与理解,像我们像学弟学妹们那么大的时候我们对于学习上的感觉是什么样的,有没有共同点,而学弟学妹们也可以提前了解到他们未来的学业状态与内容。这种多方面的进行了解,必然对我们的进步有极大的帮助。

Overall, I think the Showcase went well.
The writing part was good in that it had a purpose and an audience other than the teacher. This was used to encourage students to think about who they are writing for and to think about and improve their mistakes. If it is repeated I would suggest setting more of a standard for the students using work from this year.
